New music study partnership with Chinese education provider

SEGi University& Colleges Subang Jaya’s Faculty of Music, Education and Psychology is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with the Chinese education provider Youth Century (Shenzhen) International Arts Education Centre (YCAC).

This partnership will grant YCAC the right to offer and fully deliver SEGi’s Diploma in Music programme in China through the franchise model.

The Diploma in Music is a 2½-year programme designed to lay a solid foundation of musical studies that focuses on developing musical skills and theoretical knowledge.

The programme integrates music theory and harmony, music history, musicianship, and performance studies, which provides a wealth of musical experience and transferable skills, preparing students for undergraduate study or the workplace.

Upon successful completion of this programme, students can enter directly into the second year of the University of Auckland’s Bachelor of Music degree programme or the third year of the University of South Wales’ Bachelor of Music and Sound (Honours) degree programme.

“It’s great to introduce Malaysian higher-education programmes into China and allow Chinese students to further their education in New Zealand and

England. It greatly enriches their academic background, improves their employment outcomes and supports their future success,” said Dr Ken Chang, Academic Director of YCAC.

We’re excited to welcome Chinese students into our Diploma in Music programme and confident the learning outcomes they will have achieved in YCAC will ensure success in their music career.

The new entry pathway is open now for applications to study from 2022.
