An entertaining musical charity concert to relief stress

SEGian Music Club of SEGi College Subang Jaya, supported by the Faculty of Education, Language, Psychology & Music of SEGi University, in collaboration with Persatuan Hearts Symphony organised a charity concert titled ‘Music for Education – Laugh Alerts: A Musical Laugh Therapy Concert for Stress Relief’.

Approximately 180 to 200 children from Sunway Mentari Learning Centre, Rumah Charis Home for Children, Persatuan Kebajikan Ahsana KL, Rumah Kanak Kanak Rembau, and Ampang UNHCR Refugees Group attended the concert.

This fund-raising charity concert was jointly performed by students from the Diploma of Music and children from Persatuan Hearts Symphony Music Outreach Programme. The concert aimed to help two main projects of Persatuan Hearts Symphony, namely, Scholarship for students studying in Malaysia (2 Categories: Leadership and Academic) and Symphony that Heals – Music therapy through music education programme (collaboration project with Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar Seremban and Jabatan Kebajikan Negeri Sembilan), music for Paediatric Unit and Counselling and Psychology Department of Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.

The fund-raising charity concert is a lively and fun-filled concert for both the young and older audience, hosted by Miss Global Petite Malaysia 2022, Darsha Nai and three little emcees from Rumah Charis Home for Children.

Some of the songs performed in the concert includes patrotic songs such as Setia and Saya Anak Malaysia, violin solo Czardas, two classical instrumental pieces – Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusiz and Tchaikovsky’s Flower Wartz, followed by a series of Christmas carols.

For many of these young friends, this is their first ever experience of attending a music concert. Such music concert for a charity purpose is meaningful indeed.
