Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is a multi-disciplinary field concerned with protecting the safety, health, and general welfare of employees and employers in the workplace. This field is involved in the trends in occupational injuries and illnesses in the worker population and the strategies to create a safe and healthy culture in the workplace.
SEGi College Sarawak’s Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health (DIOSH) is committed to producing qualified Safety Health Officers. The latter will serve a virtually endless list of industries, including manufacturing, agriculture, forestry and fishing, mining, and quarrying, utilities such as oil and gas, electricity, water and sanitary services, transport, storage, and communication.
The students are trained to prepare and conduct hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control (HIRARC), as well as to conduct a chemical-hazard risk assessment (CHRA), job safety analysis (JSA) and the other necessary hazard and risk l-assessment methods to be applied in the real work environment in the future.
After learning all the responsibilities, legislation requirements and numerous other crucial skills, SEGi graduates will be eligible to work in many industries. They will have a very high chance of even greater job opportunities.
