Dr Catherine Menon, Principal Lecturer from the University of Hertfordshire, conducted a talk on cyber security at SEGi College Penang on 9 March 2023.
Highlighting the importance of system security in order to make data safe, Dr Menon said that many organisations suffer huge losses of data as a result of attacks, and some are even forced to go bankrupt. All organisations need employees who are qualified to maintain systems and protect data to ensure that all operations in the business can run smoothly and securely. Customers or clients buying products or accessing services need to trust the system and people handling their personal information.
SEGi College and the University of Hertfordshire’s BSc Honours in Computer Science (Cyber Security Networks) is a two-year course that will be offered beginning 2023.
