Year-Long Free #EarlyYearsLectureSeries Webinars

The Faculty of Education of SEGi College Subang Jaya has been a leader in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), educating our nation’s teachers since 1999. Our commitment to the training and development of next-generation teachers throughout the years has not gone unnoticed, and we are proud to be trusted by the Malaysian government, the ECCE Council and the private sector to be the consultant and facilitator of many projects.

The Faculty of Education of SEGi Group of Colleges (FoE-SGC) comprises an international team of ECCE academics across four SEGi campuses in Penang, Subang Jaya, Kuala Lumpur and Sarawak, as well as lecturers from the University of Greenwich in the UK, and HEI Schools in Finland. Since 1999, we have proudly been churning out thousands of alumni graduating from the ECCE Certificate, Diploma and Degree programmes, many of whom have become industry leaders today.

The faculty was also appointed by the Malaysian Government in 2011 as EPP2 champion under the Education National Key Economic Areas. Since 1999, it has been involved in several high-impact projects nationally and internationally in professionalising ECCE, including the upskilling of thousands of in-service teachers under the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) under the Prime Minister’s Department in 2011.

The SEGi Group of College’s WhyteHouse Education Group Early Years Lecture Series is a tripartite collaboration between a leading industry player and a premier education group with endorsement from the Penang State Government aimed to further professionalise the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) industry. It is a testament to SEGi’s commitment to advocating and promoting excellence and professionalism in the ECCE arena in Malaysia.

“We have been working very closely with ECCE academics, experts and researchers worldwide as part of our effort to bring the industry into SEGi’s classroom since 1999. Through the years, we have come to know great people in the industry internationally and we are delighted to be able to share our contacts and resources worldwide for the #EarlyYearsLectureSeries, opening access to more teachers and ECCE advocates throughout Malaysia to inspire greater excellence in ECCE,” said Ms Stella Lau, CEO of SEGi Group of Colleges.

This lecture series will comprise at least one session per month featuring industry experts and academic leaders who will share their insights and best practices on ECCE-related topics. Seven speakers from five countries have confirmed their participation, namely the USA, Finland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and of course, our very own Malaysia.

We will be holding the very first session on  Friday 24 September, featuring Dr Rachel Larimore from Samara Early Learning.
