SEGi offers free e-Rivision Programme worth RM14 Million for SPM & UEC students

SUBANG JAYA, 25 AUGUST 2021 – SEGi College Subang Jaya today announced a RM14 million corporate social responsibility (CSR) contribution through an e-Revision Programme for SPM and UEC students in Malaysia. Through this programme, 15,000 students who are facing various learning obstacles as a consequence of the pandemic will be given free tuition classes from September to November.

With the postponement of school resumption and the uncertainties posed by the escalated COVID-19 cases, Malaysian students are bound by online learning at home and many still face constraints such as Internet connectivity and appropriate technological devices. A major cause of this is the lack of financial capacity for parents to provide adequate resources because their whose jobs have been affected. SEGi is thus stepping up to give these students the necessary learning support, especially those with approaching government examinations.

Nine teachers with proven and solid track records in their fields have been carefully selected to cover ten subjects in this e-Revision Programme. Some of them include Michael Soosay with 29 years of experience in teaching Bahasa Melayu, Anson Lim with 19 years of Mathematics teaching and Vasugi Baskaran with 10 years of experience in English education.

Ten thousand SPM students will be given seats worth RM9 million, and each will be given free online tuition in Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics and History for a three-month duration. Meanwhile, 5,000 seats worth RM5 million are available for UEC students to participate in two virtual intensive workshops focusing on answering techniques for UEC subjects including Chinese, Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics and Additional Mathematics.

“Over the last five years, SEGi College Subang Jaya has also contributed to other CSR initiatives in line with SEGi’s mission to place quality education within the reach of willing minds, and this programme is no exception”, said Principal Calvin Chan Yee Yuen.
