Respected colleagues

And all of you, ladies and gentlemen, who’re joining us live via Zoom and Facebook!

A very good afternoon from SEGi College Subang Jaya!

It is indeed an honour for me to be able to say a few words at this launching and press conference of the 2021 SEGi College Subang Jaya e-Revision Programme. Thank you for joining us today.

It goes without saying that the Covid-19 pandemic has affected quite literally, everyone, throughout the world. As an educational institution, we’ve seen first-hand how the pandemic has affected learning – how students and lecturers have had to move their teaching and learning process online almost overnight. However, SEGi’s digitalisation efforts over the last 6 years have enabled us to move things online with ease. Blackboard, our multi-million dollar world class learning management system adopted in 2015, has allowed our students and lecturers to move their teaching and learning into the virtual world with very minimal disruption, and most importantly, with zero compromise on quality.

Now, when look at our colleagues in high schools and students, I must say that they have also done a tremendous job in maintaining the quality of teaching and learning despite the challenging times. The Ministry of Education has reported that the best national average score in the last five years for SPM is 2020, while the UEC results were equally great as well. To all the teachers, principals and officials from the Ministry of Education – congratulations and well done.

Today, we would like to unite with teachers and students nationwide in their continuous quest for even greater excellence. We’ve gathered and hand-picked some of the best teachers in the country with a combined teaching experience of over 120 years, to join forces and cover 10 subjects in a FREE e-Revision Programme delivered fully online.

Through this e-Revision Programme, we hope to benefit over fifteen thousand students nationwide, giving them direct access onto additional online revision classes conducted by our esteemed group of teachers. In line with SEGi’s core value of making quality education within reach, this e-Revision Programme worth Fourteen Million Ringgit also aims to reduce the financial burden of parents and guardians during these very challenging times to provide additional enhancement to their children’s learning.

At this point, I’d also like to record my sincere gratitude to Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Petaling Perdana for their recognition and endorsement of this very meaningful project. Congratulations also goes to Ms Eve Tan and her team who have all worked very hard to bring this project to fruition. And most importantly – to all teachers, principals and partners present today for your support in bringing this project to life – thank you, thank you, thank you.

And with that, ladies and gentlemen, I officially launch this 2021 SEGi e-Revision Programme for UEC and SPM candidates.
