Environmental volunteering is one of the ways to conserve natural environments and protect our earth from being destroyed due to human actions and negligence. Therefore, SEGi College Subang Jaya’s students have organised a voluntary activity called ‘Earth Care’ under the School of MPU and Language at USJ Heights Lake and Park to do their part in taking care of the environment.
The main aims of this activity are to raise public awareness about the importance of keeping the environment clean and encourage students to become environmental advocates at a young age so that we can have a better future.
The park clean-up is an excellent way to give back and beautify the local area. Students started their first step in protecting our planet by volunteering to clean and pick up litter in a community park. They brought brooms, garbage bags, trash pickers, and gloves for everyone to do the clean-up. The students were divided into groups and were assigned different areas and tasks for the clean-up activity. Working together as a team made the job seem easier and enjoyable, and it also boosted the team spirit and built trust among each other.
Throughout the clean-up activity, the students worked hard to clean up the park despite the hot weather. By working together with a common goal, the students could achieve their desired outcomes, complete meaningful activities, and build good relationships. They were able to do their part in protecting the environment.
