SEGi College Sarawak recently welcomed thirty students of Kolej ITA who had their studies abruptly disrupted when the latter college was forced to close by court order in October 2022. Some of these students were already in their final year.
Upon finding out their plight, Stella Lau, Managing Director of SEGi University and Colleges, quickly set in motion the process of offering these displaced students the opportunity to continue their studies at SEGi College Sarawak.
This required the transfer of credits in accordance with the regulatory requirements of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). With the help of Principal Dr Susie Lau, and the Programme Leader of the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences, Ms Laura Albert, the students began their classes on 9 January 2023.
“Education is a highly competitive industry. Lack of quality-accredited programmes or offering discounted fees for mediocre courses would only lead to poor student enrolment. We must not only prioritise academic excellence and research, but also pay attention to widening access and participation to learning opportunities and providing holistic education experience to promote lifelong learning,” says Lau.
With over forty-five years of excellence through its continuous delivery of excellent, affordable and flexible programmes, and achieving 6 stars in Malaysia’s MyQuest rating, SEGi University and Colleges does more than provide quality education. We challenge the impossible.
