SEGi College Sarawak is very proud to announce that on Monday 19 July, our Food and Beverage Management students did us (and themselves) proud by successfully organising a lunch service at our very own restaurant SEGi College Sarawak Restaurant as part of their final exams.
Eight students from the Diploma in Hotel Management were given this task which consisted of all the service elements of a fine-dining restaurant.
They had to arrange the tables with the correct cutlery and flowers as table decorations prior to guests arriving, and when the guests arrived, they greeted them and showed them to their respective tables. After explaining the menu, in the style of the very best service staff, they asked their guests if they could serve lunch, and continued to be on their toes for any added requests. When the guests left, they had to clear the tables.
The menu was a delicious five-course meal entitled Adorabili Occidentali, which means “Lovely Western” in Italian. The appetiser, a salmon sandwich, was followed by cream of wild mushroom soup and garlic bread. The main course was lemon garlic roasted chicken thigh with sauteed vegetables and roast baby potatoes served with a choice of mushroom or black pepper sauce. There was blueberry cheesecake for dessert, a surprise mocktail of virgin sour zing, and coffee or tea.
