Programme Leader of Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences from SEGi College Sarawak had invited a license pharmacist from Help-Healthcare to conduct a sharing session entitled “Basic Pharmacology”. Total of 40 students from Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology and Diploma in Healthcare were joining the session. All the students are taking subject Introduction to Pharmacology this semester. Therefore, this sharing session is indeed beneficial to their study.
The speaker had conducted a survey on which topics that the students are interested to know two weeks before the sharing session. The topics covered include the categories of healthcare providers, the differences between sedative and non-sedative drugs, the side effects of sedative drugs, importance of blood brain barrier (BBB), drug dependence withdrawal syndrome, non-sedative antihistamine, factors that affect mental health and the ways to maintain positive mental health. The speaker had shared the information based on the perspective of a license pharmacist.
During the sharing session, the students also had been given the opportunities to ask questions. The students also grab this chance to ask some questions which are helpful for their assignment. Before the end of the session, the Programme Leader had presented the souvenirs to the speaker. The sharing session was adjourned with group photo taking.
