On March 31 2022, a Financial Management 101 lecture was organised at SEGi College Sarawak’s Theatre Hall. The guest speaker was Mr Randy Jabeng, the Strategic Development Principal for AIA East Malaysia Region. With over 10 years of financial advisory experience, Mr Randy provided in-depth insights on managing finances to students who were present.
The lecture participants included students from the Faculty of Business, Accountancy and IT, specifically those from the Diploma in Accountancy and BA in Accounting and Finance, covering finance-related courses. This is part of SEGi College Sarawak’s continuous effort to bring industry into our classrooms.
The talk covered crucial topics such as managing income and expenses and planning for financial sustainability for the future. The knowledge shared during the session can help students to manage their finances as well as provide useful tips to be used in relevant assignments. Besides delivering the lecture, Mr Randy also created a fun and engaging environment throughout the two hours talk. A quiz was conducted at the end of the talk whereby students received goodies courtesy from AIA. Moving forward, SEGi College Sarawak will engage with AIA to conduct similar talks focusing on different areas too.
