Offline marketing VS digital marketing

Marketing is known as a set of activities that a company or business organisation carries out to stimulate the selling of a product or service to customers. Marketing consists of advertising, selling, and distributing products to consumers or other businesses. Some marketing strategies and activities are done by affiliates on behalf of a company. As a discipline, marketing involves all the measures a company undergoes to attract customers and retain them.

Traditionally, marketing involves traditional channels like roadside banners and printed media. Up until the advancement of the Internet in the 1990’s, traditional marketing was essentially the only type of marketing. Today, driven by the recent COVID-19 pandemic, marketing has become a totally different game. Digital marketing is the talk of the day, using electronic channels such as websites and social media as tools for marketing communication. Together with the power of social media and mobile technology, marketing activities have become very specialised.

Traditional marketing doesn’t necessarily mean it’s old fashioned. Traditional marketing still plays a crucial part in people’s lives with the ever-increasing need to step out of the digital world. In essence, digital marketing is just as vital as traditional marketing, if not even more so. Digital marketing uses every aspect of your daily Internet use to reach you. Marketing is essentially about building bridges with people. Therefore, be it traditional or digital marketing, as long as people are connected, it works.
