SEGi College Penang’s third-year BSc International Tourism and Hospitality Management students prepared a Western fine-dining event on 28 June 2022 from 12 pm to 2 pm at The Butler as a part of the assessment requirements for the subject Banquet and Restaurant Management.
This endeavour allowed the students to demonstrate their ability to plan and execute a dining event, from preparing the meal to serving the customers. Working in two teams, the cooking team, and the service team, was also a wonderful opportunity for the students to hone their teamwork skills.
About 20 guests of the students’ family, friends and SEGi College Penang staff attended the event.
The meal consisted of Caesar salad, creamy mushroom soup, roasted chicken served with butter rice and sautéed veggies topped with black paper sauce for the main course, and chocolate cake served with vanilla ice cream for dessert, served with coffee and tea.
