SEGi University and Colleges’ partner university, the University of Greenwich (UoG), hosted a bespoke Global Greenwich Summer School for the first time in 2022. This event was organized to appreciate the long-standing partnership between the UoG and all its partners university. The Global Greenwich Summer School is exclusively available to Greenwich’s international partners.
The Global Greenwich Summer School was a nine-day programme that took place from 30 July to 7 August 202 at the University of Greenwich London campus. Two students from SEGi Group of Colleges were shortlisted to join the summer camp, one from SEGi College Penang and the other from SEGi College Sarawak. Ivy Lim, a student of SEGi College Penang pursuing the BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance in the School of Business and Accounting, was selected.
The Summer School aims to provide students from partner universities with the opportunity to gain an international experience of living and studying abroad for a short period. The focus of the summer school was to enhance the students’ soft skills and increase their cultural awareness and competence. The camp also includes a range of exciting trips out in the city of London.
This inaugural camp was a great success, and the students had a thrilling time exploring the city and experiencing English culture. The value of the Summer School clearly transcends each student’s nine-day experience. “I had a wonderful experience here in the University of Greenwich’s campus. I met a lot of UoG students from across the globe and it was very rewarding to have been able to experience our cultural exchange. The camp has given me a whole new perspective on the world,” said Ivy.
