SEGi College Penang’s School of Hospitality and SRC recently conducted the Bon Appetit Food Festival for SEGi students on 23 September 2022.
The SRC set up the tents for the booths, and by 10:00 AM, both the SRC and the School of Hospitality were ready at their respective booths putting their products up. The event started at 11:00 AM, and the SRC sold drinks such as the Blue Lagoon, mojito mocktails, Lemon Coke, Lemon 100plus, mashed potatoes, popcorn, slushies, tao hua pudding and cakes. The School of Hospitality sold coffee and salted-egg spaghetti. Also invited to sell their products were food stalls from the pasar malam, and they sold mochis, coffee and burgers.
SRC also opened a games section at SEGi Space, including darts, ping pong, snooker, chess, pirate barrel and Uno. However, it started raining at 11:30 AM, so the booths had to be moved inside SEGi Space. At noon, the students started pouring in to mingle, play games, and buy the food on sale.
The event continued till 5:00 PM when the packing and cleaning-up began. The SRC members cleaned up after, took down the tents, and cleared the outside tables.
About fifty students attended the event. The SRC had extra food items that were not sold and later donated to the needy. The event was successful, and many students enjoyed the food and beverages sold by the team.
