🥈 SEGi College Penang Makes International Debut with Silver Medal at 1st IIE 2025

On 18 November 2025, the Department of Computing, SEGi College Penang marked a proud milestone by participating in the First International Innovation and Exhibition 2025 (1st IIE 2025). Representing the college was a dedicated team of final-year Diploma in Information Technology students, Calvin Ng Wei Keong and Cheong Kai Qi, who showcased their innovation on an international stage.

The team achieved an outstanding accomplishment by securing a Silver Medal for their innovative project titled “Donor Link”. This recognition reflects the students’ creativity, technical competency, and ability to develop solutions that address real-world challenges with meaningful social impact.

Donor Link was developed as a blood donation campaign application aimed at supporting healthcare initiatives through digital innovation. The application enables donors to record and track their blood donation activities, monitor donation history, and stay informed about ongoing and upcoming blood donation campaigns in an efficient and systematic manner.

By offering a centralised digital platform, Donor Link enhances donor engagement, awareness, and participation while improving the overall efficiency of blood donation campaign management. The system bridges the gap between donors and campaign organisers by ensuring accurate, timely, and accessible information delivery, ultimately encouraging consistent and sustainable donor involvement.

This achievement represents a significant milestone for SEGi College Penang, as it marks the institution’s first notable success at an international innovation exhibition involving Diploma in Information Technology students. It serves as a catalyst for strengthening the culture of innovation, applied research, and competition participation within the Department of Computing.

Beyond the award itself, the recognition enhances the international visibility and reputation of SEGi College Penang, reinforcing its position as an institution that nurtures industry-ready, innovation-driven graduates with strong social consciousness. The college congratulates Calvin Ng Wei Keong and Cheong Kai Qi on their success and hopes this achievement will inspire future students to actively engage in innovation projects and international-level competitions.
