SEGi College Penang recently brought back fond memories with a vibrant Chinese New Year celebration that truly reflected the warmth and unity of the campus community. The festive occasion transformed the campus into a lively space filled with colour, rhythm and joyous energy, capturing the essence of the Lunar New Year in true SEGi style.
The celebration began with a powerful lion dance performance that immediately set the tone for prosperity and good fortune. Accompanied by the rhythmic beating of drums and cymbals, the dynamic movements of the lions symbolised strength, courage and positive beginnings for the year ahead. Staff gathered with excitement as the performance filled the atmosphere with festive cheer and anticipation.
No Chinese New Year celebration would be complete without the meaningful tradition of lou yee sang. In the spirit of abundance and unity, everyone came together to toss the vibrant dish high, expressing wishes for success, harmony and growth. The joyful laughter and enthusiastic well-wishes reflected the strong bond shared among colleagues.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, the Principal personally presented angpau to staff members. This thoughtful gesture symbolised blessings, appreciation and gratitude, reinforcing the culture of care and recognition within the SEGi community.
