SEGi College Penang welcomed the festive season with warmth and vibrant energy during the Chinese New Year Fiesta 2026. The campus came alive with colour, laughter, and meaningful traditions as staff and lecturers gathered to celebrate the spirit of togetherness and renewal.
One of the most memorable highlights of the celebration was the Calligraphy Session, where every brushstroke symbolised wishes of prosperity, good fortune, and fresh beginnings. Participants had the opportunity to write the auspicious character “福” (fortune) and craft personalised festive phrases, immersing themselves in the elegance and cultural depth of this timeless art form.
The calligraphy activity not only showcased artistic expression but also deepened appreciation for Chinese heritage and symbolism. As ink met paper, the atmosphere became one of reflection and positivity, setting an inspiring tone for the year ahead.
Adding excitement to the fiesta were the lively Chinese New Year riddles, which sparked friendly competition and plenty of laughter. Colleagues enthusiastically exchanged guesses, creating an engaging and interactive festive experience that strengthened bonds across departments.
Creativity flourished during the Red Packet Lantern Crafting session, where participants transformed traditional red packets into decorative lanterns. The vibrant displays added colour and charm to the celebration, reflecting the joy and hope associated with the Lunar New Year.
Beyond the activities, the event served as a meaningful platform for cultural appreciation and shared celebration among staff and lecturers. It was a reminder that traditions play an important role in fostering unity, mutual respect, and a sense of belonging within the SEGi community.
