SEGI College organised a webinar on 19 March 2022 to share some techniques with teachers and parents to address the dilemmas faced by parents of young children during the COVID-19. The webinar was entitled “Teacher-Parent Collaboration Techniques During Covid-19: Early Childhood Webinar”.
The webinar was held from 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm via Zoom, organised by our BAEYE students for the Co-curriculum Management subject. The objective of this webinar was to share some useful techniques with teachers and parents and to promote effective communication during the pandemic.
The cooperation between teachers and parents is a very important element to motivate and educate children. In order to maintain good teacher-student interaction, SEGi students collaborated with D’MONTE Child Care and Development Centre and The Learning Kingdom Education to organise this webinar as a sharing section, called Teacher-Parent Collaboration Techniques. Ms Goh Ka Tin from D’MONTE Child Care and Development Centre and Ms Siauw Wen-Ti from The Learning Kingdom Education were invited to be guest speakers. They shared very useful tips and techniques with teachers and parents on how to communicate effectively, and also proposed some online platforms and channels to keep them engaged. It was a very insightful and interactive session.
After the webinar, the students provided an e-cert link to the speakers and participants. The students also showed their gratitude by giving a token of appreciation to the speakers. In addition, the students carried out unstructured-interview sessions with a few participants to get their feedback and suggestions for future events. This event taught the students how to organise webinar sessions time management, social, communication, and leadership skills.
