Students from the Child Psychology programme at SEGi College Penang recently embarked on an educational visit to the Penang Children Home Care Centre, where they gained valuable hands-on learning experiences through observation and interaction in a real-world childcare environment.
The visit provided students with the opportunity to observe children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioural development while deepening their understanding of concepts learned in the classroom. By witnessing child development in an authentic setting, students were able to connect psychological theories with practical application.
Throughout the visit, students engaged with children and observed daily routines, learning activities, and caregiving practices under the guidance of the centre’s staff. These experiences enhanced their observational skills, empathy, and understanding of child-centred care.
The educational visit also encouraged students to reflect on the importance of creating supportive and nurturing environments that promote healthy child development. It reinforced the role of future educators and psychologists in fostering children’s overall well-being and growth.
SEGi College Penang extends its sincere appreciation to the Penang Children Home Care Centre for their warm hospitality and for providing a meaningful learning experience that enriched our students’ academic journey.
By integrating experiential learning with academic knowledge, SEGi College Penang continues to prepare future professionals who are compassionate, knowledgeable, and ready to make a positive impact in the field of child development and education.
