In a remarkable display of dedication to community engagement and lifelong learning, Anna Phang, an esteemed advisor from the Faculty of Education, Languages, and Psychology (FOELPM) at SEGi University, played a pivotal role in a transformative online forum. On the 28th of October 2023, Phang guided DECE students in an enriching virtual session titled “Child Health 101: Decoding Sickness Symptoms and First Aid Basics.” This initiative not only exemplifies SEGi University’s commitment to its students’ holistic development but also showcases the institution’s dedication to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.

The online forum, a brainchild of SEGi’s DECE students and the DECE club, aimed at promoting vital partnerships between schools, families, and community members. With 63 online participants, including parents, DECE students, and community members, the event was a testament to SEGi’s ability to bring diverse stakeholders together for a common cause: enhancing child health education.

Supported by Kinder Joy preschool’s principal, Liew Poh Yoke, and esteemed professionals such as Dr. Amardeep Gmen from Klinik Mansa and Lilybeth F Perez, a retired nurse, the session delved into the intricacies of deciphering sickness symptoms and understanding first aid basics.
