Exploring Art Drawing for Personality Analysis

In an effort to enrich the educational experience of Diploma in Psychology students, Mr. Wan Mun Chian organized an insightful workshop on Art Drawing: House Tree Person (AD:HTP). The workshop, featuring guest speaker Mr. Jivanishenthiran Rajathura, a certified Practitioner of Art Drawing House-Tree-Person, aimed to provide students with a unique perspective on personality analysis through artistic expression.

Mr. Rajathura’s presentation centered around the House-Tree-Person (HTP) drawings and their application in personality analysis, drawing inspiration from the theories of Sigmund Freud and Abraham Maslow. Mr. Rajathura provided personalized analyses of each drawing, fostering a deeper understanding of the psychological nuances behind the art.

The AD:HTP workshop proved to be a fruitful experience for students, offering a unique avenue for self-discovery and personal analysis. By delving into the intricacies of Freud and Maslow’s theories, participants not only enhanced their artistic skills but also deepened their comprehension of foundational psychological principles.

As the workshop concluded, students left with a heightened awareness of the symbiotic relationship between art and psychology. The AD:HTP initiative not only broadened their horizons regarding therapeutic applications of art but also served as a stepping stone for future exploration into the intricate facets of human behaviour.

This engaging workshop underscores the commitment of the Psychology Department of FoELPM of SEGi University to providing holistic education and innovative learning experiences for its students, merging theory with practical applications in the dynamic field of psychology.
