A healthy lifestyle at SEGi

SEGi College Subang Jaya held a health promotion event on 22 July 2022 as part of an ongoing effort to inspire and encourage healthy lifestyles among SEGians. The event was organised by the School of Psychology’s Health Psychology students led by Valarmathy, the lecturer and programme leader.

The campaign focused on diabetes, lung cancer and sexually transmitted diseases (STD), raising awareness of these diseases, encouraging students to maintain healthy lifestyles, and telling them about the consequences of ignoring symptoms.

The participants were given free blood-glucose testing, and they learned the importance of keeping diabetes at bay, how smoking destroys the lungs, how to quit smoking, and the importance of safe sex. The event brought attention to these diseases that are often overlooked.
