The Real Talk: Becoming a Clinical Psychologist brought together psychology students for one of the most honest and eye opening conversations of the semester. Hosted on 30 September in the Level 3 Training Room, the session featured SEGi alumna Ms Preethi Kaur Sandu, now Director of Betterment Psychological Services and a Registered Clinical Psychologist.
From the moment she began speaking, the room shifted. Students leaned in, eager to hear the truth behind the profession. Ms Preethi shared the wins, the struggles, and the pivotal moments that shaped her journey. She talked about the emotional strength required during her masters, the challenges of clinical training, and the deep sense of purpose that comes with supporting individuals through mental health concerns.

Her stories offered more than career advice. They gave students a genuine look into the realities of clinical psychology, from conducting assessments to navigating therapy work. Throughout the session, her honesty reminded students that while the path is demanding, it is also deeply meaningful and rewarding.
A total of fifty six psychology students participated, engaging actively with thoughtful questions and staying back after the session to seek additional guidance from the speaker.

This event is organised in support of the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG):
