SEGi adds value to ‘World Play Day 2023’

SEGi recently participated in the World Play Day 2023. Organised by Play Toy Hub and Toy Libraries Malaysia, the event was held in the Atrium of Da Men Mall in Subang Jaya on 27 and 28 May 2023. The Guest of Honour who launched this World Play Day was Dr Farah Nini Dusuki, the Children’s Commissioner of The Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM).

SEGi’s participation took the form of a play booth, the activities of which involved arts and crafts, and promoting children’s growth and development through the Thrive By Five MyAnak application.

The booth activities provided a perfect platform for SEGi to showcase our commitment to promoting play among children. The SEGi booth offered a range of engaging activities, including art and craft stations where children could demonstrate their creativity. From moulding animal clay to exploring the vibrant world of oil painting, the children had the opportunity to express themselves and create unique masterpieces. The DIY Handmade Mirror and Handmade Deco Glasses activities allowed the children to personalise their own decorative items, fostering a sense of ownership and pride in their creations.

The promotion of the Thrive By Five MyAnak App during the event added another dimension of value. This app, aimed at parents, provides valuable information about child development, helps in planning activities, and allows for the recording of important milestones. Promoting the app at World Play Day emphasised the importance of holistic child development and equipped the parents present with an additional tool to support their children’s growth.

The participation of SEGi in the event not only promoted the importance of play but also served as a valuable learning experience for our students, who collaborated with parents present, working together to facilitate the play activities and create a joyful and engaging environment for their children. This hands-on interaction with both the children and their parents provided the students with real-life experience and valuable insights into their future roles as educators.

The collaboration between SEGi staff and students from the various SEGi campuses exemplified the power of teamwork and dedication. It showcased SEGi University & Colleges’ commitment to nurturing the best in their students and their belief in the motto “The Best in You Made Possible.”

World Play Day 2023 in Subang Jaya succeeded in raising awareness about the significance of play In children’s lives, fostering creativity, and promoting a sense of joy and well-being. Through these engaging activities, SEGi’s Play Booth contributed to the event’s success, allowing them to gain practical experience and promote the value of play. World Play Day 2023 served as a reminder that play is not only fun but is also an integral part of children’s development, contributing to their overall growth and happiness.
