Magic 8 balls, crystal balls and tarot cards. Besides our limited chance-encounters with these light-hearted things that promise to tell our futures, not many of us spend much time trying to look into the future. But many of us do imagine the future and what it might be like, don’t we? Because being able to tell the future is actually a very powerful and helpful thing. It’s always good to be prepared.
Some people are in such a position to accurately predict the future that others seek after by others in their field to give their expert opinions.
SEGi College Subang Jaya is thrilled to say that our Dr Tiu Zian Cheak was recently featured in the Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT) magazine. His insights on what he predicts will happen after Industrial Revolution 4.0.
In his article, Dr Tiu foresees the next big change after IR4.0 as the Photon Revolution, a new wave of technology that will take over the world. That has already begun to show a glimpse of its presence through the emergence of 5G technology. However, Dr Tiu expresses his concern whether Malaysia will be able to be a part of this next revolution, lamenting that there has not yet been any foundational groundwork laid in place to support a new generation of people who might be able to ride this next great technological revolution.
Perhaps you will be one of those young people to help lead the nation to prepare for the next revolution? What would you need to be able to do this? Well, you could come to SEGi College Subang Jaya, and we could tell you all about how Dr Tiu got to where he is, and perhaps you could learn from him. And together, you could get our country ready for the Photon Revolution! How awesome that would be!
Dr Tiu is the Associate Dean of the Joint Faculty of Engineering and IT of SEGi Group of Colleges, the Head of the Faculty of Engineering and IT of SEGi College Subang Jaya, and a certified Professional Technologist in the electrical and electronics field.
The Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) is a professional body that gives professional recognition to technologists and technicians in related technological and technical fields.
