It Was Just 30 Minutes — But Nobody Wanted It to End

SEGi brought melody to midday with SEGi Musical Moments – Live Performance, a vibrant 30-minute showcase held on 21 March 2025 at the Vertical Garden, Level 1. This month’s session featured vocal solos and small group performances, including two festive Raya numbers to set the mood ahead of the Hari Raya celebrations. With an audience of around 50, the performance created a lively and inclusive pre-lunch atmosphere, turning a casual Friday into a cultural celebration of student talent and creativity.

These monthly musical performances are more than just a platform for entertainment — they represent the college’s commitment to nurturing self-expression, confidence, and real-world performance experience for its music students. In a world where creative industries contribute over 3% to global GDP and employ over 30 million people, programmes that support the performing arts are increasingly critical in bridging education and employability.

The event also served as a celebration of diversity, inviting students and staff from various backgrounds to connect through rhythm, harmony, and shared cultural experiences. From contemporary hits to festive classics, every performance reinforced the power of music as a universal language — one that transcends boundaries and builds community.

Initiatives like this also address the importance of inclusive education. The UNESCO Education 2030 Framework recognises the value of arts and culture in making education holistic and equitable, particularly in promoting student engagement and emotional well-being. By making performance opportunities accessible to all, SEGi College Subang Jaya encourages students to showcase their talents regardless of background or academic stream.

This event is organised in support of the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG):
SDG 4: Quality Education
SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities
SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
