SEGi College is very happy and proud to announce that our Faculty of Engineering has reported a 100% employment rate for our engineering graduates from the BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering, BEng (Hons) Electronics and Electrical Engineering and BEng (Hons) Automotive Engineering. These programmes are in partnership with the University of Sunderland, UK.
These employment statistics garnered from graduate employability surveys for UoS Engineering degrees (3 year route) at SEGI Malaysia (BEE and BME – for 2019, 2020 and 2021) also show that 100% of our students reported obtaining employment following graduation from their programme of study. Information from students following graduation shows that our graduates obtained employment in a variety of engineering roles including Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer, Automation Design Engineer, Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, and Engineering Technician, among others.
SEGi College Subang Jaya’s 3+0 BEng programme is reputed to be among the best in the country. The long partnership between our Faculty of Engineering and the University of Sunderland has seen hundreds of graduates and countless success stories over the years. Together, we offer three engineering degree programmes in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics and Electrical Engineering.
What’s also great about this SEGi and UoS partnership is that students enrolled in this programme will receive their degree from the University of Sunderland. Studying here in Malaysia and paying much more affordable fees, they earn the same degree and transcript here that UOS students in the UK do from graduating in Sunderland.
This partnership with UOS also allows our students to choose whether or not they want to complete their programme fully in Malaysia or do a transfer to the Sunderland campus and graduate in the UK.
Another exciting fact is that our students are able to learn from both our local experts from SEGi as well as link tutors from the Sunderland campus. This enables our students to gain local, regional and global views of things, which help to make them great engineers.
The three-year route, as opposed to an alternative four-year programme, means that students have the opportunity to study, graduate and obtain a career in engineering in a shorter period of time at a smaller cost.
The year 2020 was a great milestone for both SEGi and the University of Sunderland because this was when SEGi secured an articulation partnership with University Malaya, a institution is ranked Number One in Malaysia and fifty-ninth in the world by QS World University Rankings. SEGi is very excited about this collaboration because compared to other institutions that offer four-year Degree programmes, UOS students are able to complete their engineering degrees with the University of Sunderland as well as their Master’s degree with University Malaya all within four years of study, which means they can achieve so much more in less time.
