Hospitality Lecturers Join MBPJ Mother’s Day Cooking Competition as Jury Members

SEGi Subang Jaya Lecturers Serve as Jury Members for MBPJ Mother’s Day Cooking Competition

Food, creativity, and appreciation for mothers came together at the Pertandingan Memasak Sempena Sambutan Hari Ibu 2026, organised by Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ) on 24 May 2026 at Taman Jaya.

Held under the theme “Seteguh Kasih Ibu”, the competition invited participants from the local community to showcase their cooking skills through chicken-based dishes. Each dish carried its own personal touch, making the event not only a cooking competition, but also a celebration of family, care, and community spirit.

Representing the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, SEGi College Subang Jaya, Puan Nik Azreeta binti Nik Aziz and Puan Nathalie Joan Jules were invited as jury members. Their role involved evaluating the dishes based on taste, presentation, creativity, and overall cooking skills.

Beyond the judging process, the event gave both lecturers the opportunity to share their hospitality knowledge and industry experience with the wider community. The atmosphere was lively and cheerful, with participants showing great passion and effort in presenting dishes that honoured the meaning of Mother’s Day.

For SEGi College Subang Jaya, the invitation reflected the importance of community engagement beyond the classroom, where academic expertise can support local initiatives and strengthen meaningful connections with the public.
