Where the Journey from Books to Courtroom Begins

SEGi College Sarawak’s Faculty of Law and the SEGi Moot and Law Society recently hosted “Gowning the Future,” a Professional Robing & Legal Attire Showcase on 24 June 2025. The event celebrated the role of tradition and symbolism in shaping future legal professionals, while strengthening SEGi’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4 and SDG 16.

The highlight was the unveiling of a fully robed mannequin — a lasting testament to professionalism and ethics in legal practice. The gathering brought together over 50 students and legal professionals, reinforcing the importance of integrity in a world where the UN reports over 1.5 billion people globally face challenges accessing justice.

Guest speakers emphasised resilience, duty, and ethics as cornerstones of meaningful legal careers. As SEGi fosters future lawyers ready to advance justice, the showcase was more than a tradition — it was a promise to uphold peace and human rights in society.

This event is organised in support of the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG):

SDG 4 (Quality Education)

SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions)
