The Power of 19 Clubs Working Together for One Common Goal

The Region 1 Leo Clubs Joint Installation for FY2025–2026 took place on 16 September 2025 at the MBKS Auditorium, bringing together 19 Leo Clubs from District 308-A2 with more than 100 participants, including students, advisors, and district officers. The event marked an important milestone for young leaders as they stepped into official roles while embracing their responsibilities as part of the global Leo and Lions movement.

SEGi College Sarawak was well represented with 15 Leo members participating, some supporting through photography while others were installed as key officers. Among them, President Nichole Lu, Secretary Venus Liew, and Treasurer Nately Sim were officially inducted for the new term. Their installation underscored the importance of leadership continuity, teamwork, and dedication to service, values that are deeply embedded in the Leo movement.

The joint installation also provided a platform for fostering partnerships and collaboration across different Leo Clubs. Strengthening networks and working together remain central to the Leo mission, resonating strongly with the spirit of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. According to the United Nations, effective partnerships are essential in achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and collaboration at community level plays a crucial role in building sustainable societies.

SEGi’s active involvement highlighted its commitment to developing students as socially responsible leaders. Youth leadership initiatives like this are not just about holding titles but about gaining the confidence, skills, and mindset to influence positive change. The World Economic Forum has identified leadership, resilience, and collaboration as top skills needed by 2030, making such opportunities invaluable for students preparing to step into global roles.

The programme also showcased cultural performances and group dances, reflecting the diversity and creativity within the Leo community. It concluded with a keynote address by Past District Governor Alan Thoo, whose words of encouragement inspired members to continue leading with vision and passion. By participating in such regional events, students are reminded that leadership is not limited to academic success but extends to community building and service.

This event is organised in support of the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG):
