SEGi College Sarawak held an exciting five-day Campus Adventure Programme specifically designed for SPM leavers awaiting their results. This initiative aimed to help these young students explore potential future careers by providing a taste of various academic programmes offered at the college, all while ensuring they had fun.
The SEGi Campus Adventure kicked off with over 20 eager SPM leavers diving into an unforgettable ice-breaking session at Waterfront. The day was filled with exploration and engaging activities, setting the stage for an exciting week ahead. Participants then joined the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences for a teambuilding session, fostering camaraderie and collaboration. The day concluded with an invigorating Zumba session, leaving everyone energised and ready for the adventures to come.
On the second day, participants explored the world of hospitality, gaining firsthand insights into the intricate operations of a kitchen. This was followed by a session on the art of table settings, where students learned the finer points of hospitality. The afternoon shifted focus to health sciences, with students participating in diagnostic tests, roleplays, and interactive quizzes. These activities provided invaluable knowledge about leading healthier, safer lives, making the day both informative and enjoyable.
Day three took the adventure outdoors with a hike through the Permai Rainforest. The challenging trek was more demanding than expected, but the breathtaking waterfall at the end made it all worthwhile. The stunning natural backdrop was perfect for creating cherished memories and capturing photos. Despite the exhaustion from the hike, the students were thrilled by the experience, showcasing their enthusiasm and resilience.
The fourth day brought a deep dive into the complexities of the legal system. Students learned how the High Court operates, gaining a better understanding of the legal landscape. The afternoon was dedicated to fostering creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Activities ranged from interactive games to challenges that required creating and branding products. These exercises highlighted the students’ innovation and collaborative spirit, making it a day of both learning and fun.
The final day of the SEGi Campus Adventure featured a fantastic scavenger hunt around the campus, organised by the Faculty of Communication, Design, and Information Technology. This engaging activity allowed students to explore the campus in a fun and interactive way. The session concluded with reflections on student life and aspirations for future success. As the adventure ended, gratitude was extended to all participants, with hopes that everyone gained valuable knowledge throughout the immersive five-day programme.
