SEGi College Sarawak recently took part in the National Autism Convention, organised by the Sibu Autistic Association (SAA) on 6th-7th May 2023, at the RH Hotel in Sibu, Sarawak.
The convention’s objective was to raise awareness and provide parents, special education teachers, and the general public with the tools to help autistic children reach their full potential.

The convention featured keynote speakers such as Professor Dr. Toh Teck Hock, a Consultant Paediatrician and Head of the Clinical Research Centre at Sibu Hospital. He shared his experiences on “Discover the Best Resources for Your Child After an Autism Diagnosis.” Dr. Hasrul Bin Hosshan, a Senior Lecturer at University Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), also contributed his thoughts and expertise on “The Transitioning from Adolescence to Adulthood with Autism Spectrum Disorder.”
The convention gave SEGi College Sarawak’s faculty and students the opportunity to learn from experts in the field and gain insights into better supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorders. The college’s participation in the convention reflects its dedication to promoting sustainable development through education and research, ultimately creating a better future for all.
