SEGi’s Faculty of Law recently made an impact at the Sarawak National Syariah Convention 2025, a two-day gathering held on 24–25 June that brought together Syariah legal experts, policymakers, and students from across Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and Indonesia.
Led by Cik Aishah Nur Ashfira Binti Mohd Nor, President of SEGi Student Representative Council, the delegation gained invaluable insights into the integration of artificial intelligence within the Syariah legal framework, deepening their understanding of modern legal challenges and ethics.
Students actively networked with professionals and learned from high-level discussions on how technology can support but not replace human judgement in Syariah courts, reflecting Malaysia’s ongoing push towards digital transformation. According to a report by UNESCO, digital literacy and legal ethics are critical skills in building just, inclusive societies.
This participation demonstrates SEGi College Sarawak’s commitment to producing ethical, future-ready legal professionals ready to contribute to society’s evolving needs. This event is organised in support of the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG):
Quality Education (SDG 4)
Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (SDG 16)
Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9)
