Bridging Classroom Learning with Real-World Creativity

On Monday, 22 September 2025, a total of 22 Diploma in Creative Multimedia students from SEGi College Sarawak, accompanied by a Creative Multimedia lecturer, visited the Borneo Laboratory Exhibition Creative Art (Visual Analysis and 3D Modelling) from 9.30 a.m. to 12.00 p.m.

Organised as part of the Visual Analysis and 3D Design Making courses, the educational visit aimed to bridge academic learning with real-world creative experiences. It provided students with the opportunity to observe professional artworks and understand how concepts taught in class — such as composition, form, and spatial design — are applied in industry settings.

Throughout the session, students explored a range of contemporary art and 3D works that showcased innovation, storytelling, and design thinking. The experience deepened their appreciation of how visual analysis and three-dimensional design function in professional creative environments, enhancing both their critical and creative problem-solving skills.

A key highlight of the visit was a sharing session by Wendy Teo, who offered a captivating explanation of the artistic ideas and processes behind the exhibition. Her presentation encouraged students to see design not just as a skill, but as a bridge between creativity, technology, and sustainability.

This learning activity underscores SEGi’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4: Quality Education) and (SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), by promoting experiential learning that prepares students for future roles in the creative industry.
