SEGi’s Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences wrapped up the year of 2023 with a memorable day trip to Libiki Bamboo Resort Bau on 17 November. A total of 4 lecturers and 39 students eagerly joined the outing, which aimed to foster new friendships, broaden horizons, and highlight the importance of a balanced study life.
To ensure an exciting experience, the organizing committee planned a series of engaging games for the students. Divided into four groups, participants were mixed across different programs to encourage interaction and collaboration. Research has shown that serotonin, known as the “happy chemical,” plays a crucial role in boosting happiness and overall well-being. Engaging in outdoor activities triggers the release of serotonin, which contributes to a positive mood. As a reward for their enthusiastic participation, all students who took part in the games received prizes graciously provided by SEGi.
In addition to the games, the students delighted in a delicious barbecue meal prepared by their dedicated lecturers. They also had the opportunity to partake in swimming and ATV riding, further enhancing both their physical and mental well-being. Outdoor activities offer numerous benefits, including opportunities for personal growth and socialisation. Studies have even shown that engaging in such activities can significantly reduce symptoms of depression. To commemorate the successful day trip, the faculty gathered for a group photo, capturing the joy and camaraderie that permeated the event.
SEGi’s Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences’ initiative to organise this enriching day trip exemplifies their commitment to providing holistic education. By promoting outdoor activities and fostering social connections, SEGi continues to empower its students to lead happier and more fulfilling lives.
