SEGi University recently hosted a thrilling culinary competition in collaboration with renowned industry giants The Chicken Rice Shop, Mamee, Kinohimitsu Malaysia, and Lee Kum Kee. This exciting event challenged students to showcase their culinary creativity and technical skills by creating innovative dishes that celebrate Chinese New Year while reflecting Malaysia’s rich cultural diversity.
Working in teams of two, participants were tasked with incorporating products from Mamee, Kinohimitsu Malaysia, and Lee Kum Kee into their culinary creations. The results were truly impressive, with students transforming everyday ingredients into extraordinary masterpieces. Judges were particularly captivated by the inventive interpretations of traditional chicken rice, showcasing a fusion of classic flavours with modern twists.
The competition was not just about taste, but also presentation. Students demonstrated remarkable artistry through elegant plating and harmonious colours, elevating the event to a visual and gastronomic delight.
SEGi College Penang shone brightly, with three teams advancing to the final stages of the competition. This achievement is a testament to their dedication, talent, and the effectiveness of SEGi’s hands-on educational approach.
