SEGi College Penang took a leading role in promoting mental health awareness this October by proudly serving as a Silver Sponsor for the “Mind Maze” event, organized by Penang Adventist Hospital in conjunction with World Mental Health Month. Held from 3rd to 13th October, the event aimed to shed light on the importance of mental well-being, engaging the community in conversations that help break the stigma surrounding mental health. SEGi’s involvement was further highlighted by the active participation of its psychology students, who guided visitors through the immersive “Mind Maze” experience, helping them understand the complexities of mental health.
A key moment of the event was the panel discussion on 6th October, where SEGi’s Senior Lecturer and Program Leader, Justine Ng, joined other mental health experts to share practical insights into how individuals and communities can support mental well-being. The event provided the public with valuable tools for addressing mental health challenges, focusing on collective action to improve awareness and accessibility to mental health resources.
This initiative not only reflects SEGi’s commitment to education but also aligns with global efforts to promote health and well-being, in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being. SEGi College Penang’s sponsorship of the event and the active involvement of its students demonstrate the institution’s dedication to fostering holistic education and supporting sustainable development through mental health advocacy.
By playing a key role in the “Mind Maze” event, SEGi reinforced its position as a leader in the mental health space, empowering students and the community to take charge of their mental health while contributing to a more inclusive and understanding society.
