SEGi College Penang took a proactive approach to community engagement on 21st September 2024 by partnering with Bagan Specialist Centre to host the “Dancing with Dementia: Funwalk 2024.” This event, which aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3): Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages, aimed to raise awareness about dementia care while encouraging both physical activity and community solidarity.
The day began with a vibrant Zumba session led by SEGi’s psychology students and lecturers, providing an energising start for participants. The Funwalk itself was a powerful symbol of unity, bringing together caregivers, health professionals, and the public to walk in support of dementia patients and their families. Through interactive activities, attendees also engaged in important conversations about dementia, gaining greater understanding and solidarity with those affected by the condition.
