A warm cup of chai or coffee has the power to do more than refresh — it can bring people together. That was the essence of the Orientation Day Special: Desi Chai & Coffee Booth, organised by the SEGian Care Club. The booth became a welcoming stop for new students, parents, and staff, adding both flavour and heart to the day’s celebrations.
From morning until early afternoon, the booth buzzed with energy as visitors queued for authentic Desi Chai, aromatic coffee, and the local favourite, cham. With prices kept affordable, the initiative encouraged participation while promoting a sense of belonging and camaraderie on campus. The lively interaction at the booth mirrored the spirit of Orientation Day — making new connections over shared experiences.
The outcome was encouraging: RM250 was raised through the sales, and these funds will be channelled into future SEGian Care Club activities and student welfare initiatives. Beyond fundraising, the booth succeeded in creating an inclusive space where students and staff could connect in a relaxed, cheerful setting.
Reflecting on the event, the organisers highlighted two key areas for growth — earlier submission of forms and approvals to streamline logistics, and increased publicity through posters and social media to attract even more participants. These improvements aim to make future initiatives even more impactful.
Ultimately, the Desi Chai & Coffee Booth was more than just a refreshment stall. It was a reminder that even small gestures can build community spirit, strengthen engagement, and contribute meaningfully to student life.
