First in the industry: SEGi collaborates Malaysia Airlines

 

SEGi University and Colleges (SEGi) has become the FIRST higher education institution to enter into an agreement with Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) to develop and strengthen the talent pipeline for the aviation industry and beyond.

The SEGi-MAB collaboration will focus on wide-ranging initiatives including student internship and placement programme, hosting of industrial visits and co-organising events, development of blended academic agenda through the inclusion of study module and knowledge exchange, joint research activities and product development projects as well as cross-marketing and promotional activities.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formalized by the Chief Executive Officer of SEGi Group of Colleges, Stella Lau and Group Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer of Malaysia Airlines, Lau Yin May and at MAB Academy in Kelana Jaya, today.

Through this partnership, students from our Business, Hospitality & Tourism Faculties will get to work on real-life projects with Malaysia Airlines, solve real-world problems and immerse in real-time developments of the industry. Indeed we will blaze the way and transform the way curriculum is delivered and how students experience learning“ said Stella Lau, CEO, SEGi Group of Colleges

Through the MoU, SEGi students can enjoy many benefits from the airline’s digitalised student travel programme, MHexplorer, such as special rates of up to 30% flight discounts for all destinations and fare types, an additional 10kg of check-in baggage, a complimentary date change across all flight fares, access to Enrich lifestyle privileges and benefits, as well as the extension of exclusive promos to friends and family via promo codes.

On top of that, Enrich – the airline’s Travel and Lifestyle Loyalty programme, will be rewarding Enrich points on education fees, where students pursuing the SEGi-University of Sunderland MBA and BA (Hons) International Tourism and Hospitality Management Programme can earn 1 Enrich Point for every RM2 spent on their tuition fees. In addition, the Enrich Points can be utilized for e-Voucher redemptions worth up to RM500 to pay for all programme registration fees.
