Chef lecturer clinches silver medal at Malaysia Culinary World Cup 2023

Muhammad Yazid Ani, a chef lecturer at SEGi, won a silver medal in the WC23 category at the Malaysia Culinary World Cup 2023 (MCWC23) for his dish, Mee Bandung. This is his second gold medal, following his victory in the Battle of the Chef 2022 competition. The largest inaugural cooking competition in the world, MCWC23, was held at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) from 21 to 23 February 2023. Over 650 people from local and international communities competed simultaneously to set a Guinness World Record. 

The competition includes nine main categories and 62 sub-categories, 40 of which highlight local cuisine. These categories were judged by approximately 100 local and international chefs. Chef Yazid’s victory inspires students and reflects positively on the quality of education and training provided at SEGi.
