Building Awareness to Prevent Scams

SEGi College Penang recently organised an insightful event dedicated to educating staff, students, and the public on how to avoid falling victim to scams. The initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to community engagement and social responsibility beyond the classroom.

The highlight of the event was a talk delivered by Dato’ Mohamad Anil Shah Abdullah, former Chairman of JPJKK PDRM Penang and advisor for the Persatuan Bekas Sukarelawan Simpinan Polis Pulau Pinang (PBSSPPP). Leveraging his wealth of experience, he shared practical tips, early warning signs, and real-life examples to help participants safeguard themselves against fraudulent activities.

The programme also received strong support from distinguished guests, including YBhg Tuan Liew Hup Keong, Chairman of PBSSPPP, YBhg Tuan James Mohan, Vice-Chairman of PBSSPPP, and YBhg Tuan Chow Mun Fye, Secretary of PBPM (Timur Laut). Their presence reinforced the collective effort to promote awareness and resilience against scams.

Through this event, SEGi College Penang once again demonstrated its proactive role in shaping not only knowledgeable graduates but also vigilant and socially responsible members of the community.
