SEGi College Penang proudly hosted the Mini Showcase: Final Year Project Exhibition and Competition (FiPEC 2025) on 11 August 2025 at the SEGi Ballroom, Wisma Seri Pinang II. This annual event celebrated the creativity, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills of Diploma in Information Technology students, marking the culmination of their three-year academic journey.
Organised under the Integrated System Project (SDD4074) module in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology, FiPEC 2025 represents the third successful edition of this showcase, following the achievements of FiPEC 2022 and 2023. Each year, the event continues to grow in participation and industry support, reinforcing SEGi’s commitment to bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world applications.
The highlight of FiPEC 2025 was the opportunity for students to present their innovative projects to a distinguished panel of industry experts and academic representatives. Among the invited judges were Ms Koh Beh Xian (Kode Digital), Mr Samuel Lim (Legaxus Technology), Mr Aaron Chia Teik Hua (iSolutions), and representatives from Politeknik Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin. Their presence brought valuable insights and strengthened the concept of “industry into the classroom”, preparing students for future professional challenges.
Three outstanding projects emerged as winners, showcasing exceptional innovation and practical solutions. First place went to Cheong Kai Qi for the e-Shuttle Application, a mobile app designed to streamline shuttle bookings and provide real-time updates for SEGi College Penang. Second place was awarded to Ahmad Faris Bin Mohamed Asri for the QR Food Ordering System, which enhances efficiency at the iconic Ais Tingkap stall in George Town. Third place went to Logeshaan A/L Murukaya for the SEGi Smart Parking System, an IoT-based solution addressing campus parking challenges.

FiPEC 2025 also highlighted the importance of industry-academic collaboration, with Kode Digital playing a pivotal role in supporting the event. Such partnerships ensure that SEGi graduates are not only academically competent but also industry-ready, equipped with the creativity and resilience needed in today’s fast-evolving digital landscape.
