Not Just a Campus Tour but a Life Changing Educational Experience

SEGi proudly welcomed students and teachers from Wattepchumnum School, Thailand, for an Educational Tour on 15 March 2025, providing an enriching experience that introduced them to higher education opportunities in Malaysia. This initiative aimed to broaden students’ academic perspectives, strengthen international ties, and showcase SEGi’s diverse learning pathways, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to global education and student development.

Guided by dedicated course counsellors, students explored SEGi’s state-of-the-art facilities, academic programmes, and vibrant campus environment. The visit provided a first-hand look into SEGi College Penang’s dynamic learning ecosystem, equipping students with valuable insights into future study options. According to UNESCO, international academic exposure significantly enhances students’ motivation to pursue higher education, making this tour a pivotal step in encouraging cross-border learning experiences.

This engagement was more than just a campus tour—it was a platform for cultural exchange and global learning. As the demand for quality education continues to rise, the UNESCO Global Education Report predicts that the number of students seeking international higher education will reach 8 million by 2030. By offering international students access to Malaysia’s higher education landscape, SEGi fosters cross-cultural understanding and knowledge-sharing, supporting Quality Education (SDG 4).

Beyond academics, the tour also strengthened international partnerships in education, ensuring students from diverse backgrounds experience world-class learning environments. Initiatives like these are essential in building long-term academic collaborations and creating opportunities for future student mobility, aligning with Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).

With the global workforce becoming more interconnected, institutions that provide international academic exposure are better positioned to prepare students for borderless career opportunities. According to the World Economic Forum, graduates with international learning experiences are 20% more likely to secure competitive job opportunities, underscoring the importance of global education initiatives.

The Educational Tour at SEGi College Penang was not just about showcasing academic offerings—it was about inspiring the next generation of global learners. By providing international students with meaningful insights into future education pathways, SEGi continues to champion academic excellence, inclusivity, and student empowerment, ensuring that every learner is equipped to thrive in an ever-evolving world.
