A team of three talented staff members from the Department of Information Technology recently achieved a remarkable feat at the Johor International Innovation, Invention, Competition, and Symposium 2024 (JIIICaS 2024). Aqilah Syahirah Shahabudin, Mohd Amizar Abdul Majid, and Anis Nazhirah Mohd Zahari secured a prestigious silver medal at the event held in late October 2024, showcasing their innovative prowess.
JIIICaS 2024, organised by UiTM Johor, serves as a significant platform for promoting innovation and local expertise. This year’s theme, “Flourish and Nurturing Sustainable Innovation for a Prosperous Nation,” placed a strong emphasis on the importance of sustainable innovation for national development. The hybrid format of the event, which included both online and physical exhibitions, brought together participants from various institutions across primary, secondary, and higher education levels. These exhibitions featured innovative ideas across multiple disciplines, with a special focus on social sciences and science technology.
The team from the School of Information Technology earned their silver medal for their outstanding contributions to the competition, which was a true reflection of their creativity, technical expertise, and commitment to advancing innovation. Their success underscores the department’s dedication to fostering a culture of excellence and innovation, not only among its students but also within its academic staff.
