On the 21 December 2023, a team from SEGi, led by programme leaders and academicians Nor Shahreen Raslee, Jasfarizal Abd Jalil, and Norhaslinda Jamaluddin, held a significant meeting with Equatorial Hotel (EQ) Kuala Lumpur. Nico Sin, Learning and Development Manager, represented EQ Kuala Lumpur in discussions about a future Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and potential collaborations.
The purpose of this collaboration is to expand educational opportunities for students and foster mutually beneficial connections. The envisaged long-term partnership aims to enhance career paths and employment prospects for students pursuing hospitality and culinary arts, particularly those in TVET programmes.
SEGi places a strong emphasis on bridging the gap between industry and the classroom, ensuring students are well-prepared for the workforce. The MoU, once established, will provide students with the opportunity to translate theoretical knowledge into practical skills through real-life working experiences.
The collaboration with EQ Kuala Lumpur is a privilege for SEGi, allowing the development of future professionals in the hospitality and culinary arts industry. This association will enable students to gain practical experience, acquire useful knowledge, and become familiar with industry demands and expectations upon graduation.”
