A question that hangs heavy on every first-year student’s mind is, “What will my future career be if I study this course?” This certainly reflects their concern regarding the sustainability of their course choices in the long run. Generally speaking, an accounting career can be regarded as one of the most in-demand and highly competitive careers in every industry. This is the main reason why many students choose accounting as a career in order to ensure job security in the long run.
Here is a list of accounting related careers that accounting students can pursue once they have completed their accounting degree programs:
- Auditor
- Tax consultant
- Bookkeeper
- Accounts specialist in account payables or receivables
- Accountant
- Management accountant
- Financial controller
Accounting can play a major role in developing the students’ understanding and awareness in the accounting industry, thereby enabling them to focus on how and what can be done to further enhance their roles in preparing the students for the practical world. Universities are also needed to ensure that the students have sufficient skills and knowledge so that they can fit into the contemporary environment seamlessly once they graduate.
