SEGi joins International Nurses’ Day Celebration at Hospital Kajang

In conjunction with International Nurses’ Day been held on 12 May, SEGi College’s School of Allied Health Sciences and Nursing, academicians and students of Segi College Kuala Lumpur (SCKL) were all been invited to attend the Nurses’ Day celebration at Hospital Kajang, our practical partner.

The theme chosen for this year by the International Council of Nurses (ICN) was “Nurses: A voice to lead, invest in nursing, and respect rights to secure global health”.

The objective of this year’s theme was to focus on the need to protect, support and invest in the nursing profession to strengthen the global health system which has created hurdles for nurses these past two years during the pandemic.

Hospital Kajang portrayed is a wonderful partner for SEGi in providing facilities and guidance to our SCKL nursing students. Our students have been posted to a variety of general and specialised areas such as medical, surgical, emergency, haemodialysis, ICU, operation theatre, and the other disciplines. The nurses at Hospital Kajang have been very supportive in mentoring our nursing students throughout their placement periods.

With the intention to bring the gap closer, post-pandemic, SCKL representatives (Deputy Head, School of Allied Health Science and Nursing and Clinical Instructor) joined the Nurses’ Day celebration and presented tokens of appreciation to show our gratitude to the hospital staff.

We wish all nurses a very Happy International Nurses’ Day.
